Default No garbage disposal in Seekonk?

We are renting a house in Seekonk, and was told that it's not allowed to install a garbage disposal in Seekonk. Is it true? Hard to believe.

Don't know about Seekonk... but garbage disposal is not recommended for house with septic... installing garbage disposal can double the amount of solids added to a septic tank making it not functioning much faster.

Seekonk doesn't have town sewage, it uses septic systems in every home, and like above, garbage disposals aren't recommended for septic systems.

Seekonk's really big on recycling your waste, which is why the special garbage bags you have to buy to have your trash picked up are $6.50 (Small) and $11.00 (Large) per pack.

As for the rest of the garbage issues, the town should have mailed you a post card with information on the waste disposal and recycling efforts it has in place. If you didn't get one, visit the town office on Peck St., I'm pretty sure they'd be more than happy to give you one.
