Have one weekend to spend on the Cape- where should we go?
A tame (not too much surf) beach would be nice.....
Thanks for any advice

We have a house in W. Yarmouth so we usually to go Sea Gull Beach. I've always enjoyed going there and my kids have never had a problem with the surf.

in west yarmouth Smugglers beach is nice you can take a real long walk on that beach. Sea Gull is also nice. However the beach parking lot does fill up real fast.

I would say the Lower and Outer Cape are your best bets. The Beachcomber in Wellfleet is a great time.

Old Silver Beach in Falmouth. The Sea Crest resort is right on the beach.

I agree with the Old Silver Beach suggestion in Falmouth. Or try Chappaquoit in West Falmouth, There's a nice little tidal pool/inlet on the other side of the road that the kids like to play in and look for crabs, periwinkles, etc.

Wherever you choose to stay, make an effort to do a whale-watch out of Provincetown. We were there the week of July 4th, and saw at least 20 whales on our trip out, including several mother-calf pairs and a humpback that "showed off" (breaching and lying on its side, smacking its fin on the water) right beside our boat for about 10 minutes. He/she was close enough to the boat for us to smell (not a great odor, but very cool nonetheless)! Definitely worth the $20 or whatever it cost us. An unforgettable experience.

Actually we are also looking for a good B&B for a family of 4 on Cape Cod, for a couple of nights. Any suggestions and also any info on the whale watching would be appreciated.
We are looking at any time from the 27th - 31st Aug
