Default Information on Westwood, Ma

We're looking into Westwood, Ma as a possible town in which to live in the metrowest area. I know it has "great schools", but was also happy to see that there seems to be a lot of parent involvement at the schools and in the community.
From the website we found their newcomers club info, which states that there are, on average, four events per month, including family events, women's events and couples events.
We really want a town that has an active community and an infrastructure of activities in place to hook up with. We love book clubs, sports, school volunteering and so on. We also want a town with commerce etc...ie)coffee shops, drug store, bank, groceries nearby, as well as a few other shops.
We think Westwood looks great. We have also considered Natick, Dover, Medfield, Lincoln, Sudbury, Concord, Lexington and some others.
Does anyone have any info to share about Westwood that might help?

I am from Westwood. Good town to raise your kids. Less expensive than the other tonie suburbs. On commerce, there is a modicum of shops and speciality stores. However, there is currently a giant commercial construction project going on in the industrial sector. Its called "Westwood Station". It is based around the amtrak station that is a commuter option to Boston, New York and I believe D.C. They are building a Target, Wegmans, Movie Theater?, Residential and Office, and many many more stores. They envision it as the "Newbury Street of the Suburbs".

Westwood has great schools. We looked there when we first moved here many years ago but I wanted a smaller town with a "center" feel to it so we ultimately decided not to buy there. However, if we had, I think we would have been happy.
