Default Lobster in & around Boston

My wife and I are visiting Boston the last week of August and are craving lobster. Can anyone suggest a place to get some? Are there any lobster ports by the water? Also, going to Hyannis for a day - any place we could stop by on the way down or back?

Thanks!

Legal Seafoods is legendary and has phenomenal seafood and lobster dishes. A truly HUGE pile of perfectly cooked lobster meat on their lobster roll... the best N.E. clam chowder I've ever had... omg, now I'm salivating -- thanks a lot! >:-(
Superb service, and dress attire ranges from very casual to very chic. First rate operation -- loved it.

Agreed: Legal Sea Foods is hard to beat. It's a locally based chain but their food -- traditional New Engalnd seafood -- is consistently excellent. There are other places that may beat Legal from time to time on certain dishes, but day in and day out you just can't go wrong at Legal's.

The first time I went to the Boston area, I was taken to a place called Weathervane's. It was there I tasted my first Lobster Roll. Delicious. It's in Salem, but I don't know if it's Salem NH or Salem Mass, because we drove around quite a bit that day!

You should go to the Raw Bar in New Seabury for the best Lobster Roll you'll probably ever have in your life. It's about 20 minutes from Hyannis and out of the way but well worth it.

It is fairly hard to screw up on boil lobsters... As long as the tail is bent... it means the lobster is fresh... else you're served with a dead one.
