I am looking for a pediatrician in Massachusetts that will administer the MMR vaccine in three separate doses. Does anyone know of any pediatricians that will administer the shot this way? I know you can order the vaccine separately through MERCK but I can not find a pediatrician that is willing to do this. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You know, my wife and I asked our pediatrician about this recently. His opinion is that since he's been a pediatrician for more than 30 years, he's given it 10s of thousands of times, and he's never had anyone's kid have serious problems as a result, he doesn't have an indication that the administration of this medicine should be changed - hence, follow the established procedure. He's aware that there have been kids with bad reactions to the vaccine, so it's not impossible, but isn't that the case with most treatments?

I share this not to question your search, but to explain why I, and other people I know who have recently-vaccinated kids, have not heard of anyone getting it in pieces rather than together. Good luck & God bless.

We delay/selective vaccinate and are relocating to MA soon. I'm very curious to hear responses.

You might have good luck asking on mothering.com. If you go to the discussion forums, you can go to Finding Your Tribe and ask in the CT/MA/RI tribe... or ask in the vaccination forum. There are lots of people there who are well-educated on alternative vaccination schedules/non-vaxing.
