Default Lowell, MA - what's near the Doubletree?

I'll be in Lowell MA for approximately 1 week with my husband in September while he attends a conference being held at the Doubletree. I will have some free time while he is busy with the conference, and was wondering what was close by? I was hoping there might be some restaurants or shops within walking distance, but will take any Lowell or nearby recommendations on where to eat, or things we should do while we are there. Thank you.

Southeast Asian Restaurant, located downtown on Market St., is definitely worth a visit if you can get over there for their lunch buffet. It's probably a 15 minute walk from the Doubletree. Cobblestones is another restaurant worth checking out, though it's a bit farther away. Brew'd Awakenings, a coffee shop also on Market St., is excellent and also worth a visit.

Try this: There's a lot to like about Lowell and enjoy Lowell. Blue Taleh and Etsogo, near the Doubletree are very good. Also Centro and some others.
