My husband and I have recently moved to MA from MD. Many people have told us about Stow as a place to live, my husband is working in Framingham. We went to Stow this weekend on our whirlwind town search and did not see much.... in other words it seemed very rural. I stay at home with 3 children under the age of 4 and would like activities to do that do not always involve a drive too far (15mins.). Is there anything to do in Stow? any Mom's groups? Trails to walk/bike? Any info. on Stow is appreciated.

Yeah. I am not sure what Stow offers either. Seems to have high taxes and not much services. May be is just peace and quiet?
Oh. I did recall a rock climbing place moved into Stow. |

I live in Stow, and the thing I like best about it is it's quaintness. You never have to worry about crime, and I just feel safer living here than where I used to live.
The Randall Library offers a lot of activities, and it's basically in the center of the town. They have lots of groups, but I can't exactly say what they all are because the only ones I ever attend are Storybook Time every Wednesday, which is aimed mostly for toddlers... Although I'm fourteen. (: (But they have birthday cake on the first Wednesday of every month, so you can see why I go...) In the fall and summer, apple picking at Shelburne Farms or blueberry picking at Honeypot Hill are usually pretty popular, but the lines are so incredibly long to do it on nice days. If you go a little out of your way from Stow, like Maynard, there are a lot of small shops & whatnot. Hudson offers the same thing and it's also right next to Stow. So no, Stow itself is really boring. But I usually take walks around here & whatnot. And like I said before, I usually feel safe doing so, because the crime rate is so low. So yeah, hope that helps. >.< |
