Default Best school districts in Milford area please

Hello,

I will be relocating from Colorado this fall. I had been looking at jobs in Boston and Worcester however, it now looks like I may be based out of a satellite office in Milford. I have one 3 yr old son and was wondering which towns in the Milford area you would recommend that have the best school districts. I would like to stay within a 30 minute commute. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The school districts here are all town-based. So if you live in Milford, you are in the Milford school district. Milford is not such a great town--probably find to work but I'd recommend looking at Medway to live; nicer town, lower crime, better schools and just one town over from Milford. I am not familiar with the towns on the other side of Milford (Uxbridge, etc.) but I'm sure some C-D members will come along to fill you in.

Mendon is a good option...

It depends on if you're planning to rent or not... many towns do not have much rental options.

Hopkinton is also adjacent to Milford with a much better school system. As Smarty mentioned it depends on whether you're renting or buying and what you're looking for in a community.

I agree that Hopkinton is better. Going up Rt. 85 or 495 brings you to some better school districts- Westborough, Southborough...

Look into Franklin & Wrentham, too. Both are nice.

Hopkinton, Holliston, and Ashland are all excellent. Westborough and Southborough are also very good but a little further away...

Not in any order listed above- it does matter where you find a rental/home, but I would certainly start my search in those areas.

Default Schools

Having lived in this area for a long time, medfield is one of the best school systems in the area. They have great pre schools and high rated grade schools too. if your looking for a closer commute to a school, try medway, holliston or hopkinton which also have good schools too. Medfield will feel more familiar to you. (like colorodo) Good luck on your search!
