Default Air Quality Around Boston

The air quality around Boston stinks (literally and figuratively)! Sometimes we forget about what we're breathing until traveling to another location. This weekend, we were out in rural, central Massachusetts (the Brookfields). The difference in air quality was noticable. It was nice to be reintroduced to effortless breathing! What a concept, breathing clean air!

So it goes for living in an industrial region. I guess it's a trade-off as the Boston area offer so much in terms of quality of life. I'm wondering, however, if there are any environmentalists out there that can tell me specifically why our air quality seems so poor in the Boston area. What are some of the pollutants in the air? Can these toxins be harmful to human health over time, or even in the short term? Does poor air quality potentially pose a problem for asthmatics? Also, is the air in an area like the Brookfields really as good as it seems, or is there a significant amount of pollution, as compared to other areas in the country?

The breeze today in Boston feels so good... so refreshing. I'm not sure if I agree with your observation. What's you're measurment? There may be some difference between city and country... but when you compare to Beijing or LA... Boston is one of the best place.

According to this, air quality is good for today and last few weeks.
