Can I break the lease early
I rent a room of a house in the september first aand singed 1-year lease. After I moved in, I found the room has a bad odor. I guess it is from mold. The bad odor cause nasal congestion on me. I talked to the landlord, but they just ingore my complains.
Can I break the lease early? What I need to do to protect myself?
Thanks.

A lease doesn't mean much. The landlord is still obligated to look for a new tenant. But first put your complaint in writing and call the health department. That oughta get their attention.

After 15 years in apartment management, Woof is right, send them a complaint via certified mail, then one to the health department. They are obligated to find the problem, and if they ignore it, they are nuts, mold is a big deal. It can cause worse things than what you have right now.

It sounds like you're renting a room in a house? I'd just move out, but do it so that I don't pay the last month's rent and the security deposit, which they won't return, will cover it.
I don't know your landlord, but it sounds like a small operation, and they don't have an in-house lawyer to come after you.
If you don't have hot water, if your room is infested with mold, scr*w them, and move someplace better.

If the room has mold, that is a life threatning condition.
TAKE PICTURES'
This is very important to back up your claim.
Contact your local board of health, and your housing department, and include those pictures with your complaint.
Be sure and have the pictures time stamped so that there will be no confusion as to when they were taken.
Mold can be deadly so your health and building departments will be all over the building owner like flies to molasses.
