I would have to say my favorite place has been the western part of MA for the foliage. I also love the Cape area, Salem was wonderful as well i remember last year when we went there in October I remember the smell of cinnamon, caramel apples, hot chocolate and chowder filling the air and thought this is wonderful!!!Not to mention the cornstalks that wrapped around each pole in the town and the decorative window filled with fall and halloween arrangements. Then i remember my husband getting us lost in Northampton and we turned around on a side road, there we discovered the prettiest path of yellow trees, we all got out of the car and took pictures and walked around later we found a pumpkin patch and this was a first for my son!!! This past summer our trip to the Cape was perfect!!! The beaches, salt air, cool night breezes, all of this i wish I could do all over again!!! I would pretty much live anywhere in MA actually . I LOVE to cook and love to see the reactions from people that try my meals. It is a dream of mine to own and run either a restaurant or a bakery in MA. Cooking is a passion of mine since i was little. When we were up in MA i saw so many places that i told my husband would be a great place for a restaurant. So in the meantime i have been working on different dishes while my husband rearranges our house once a month so i can host dinner parties!! The history, the charm, the scenery it is truly heaven.

txbaker27, what kind of cuisine do you prefer to make? I have been cooking for 25 years and love trying new things. The joy that I see on peoples faces when they really love something I prepare just sends a warm feeling through me. I can't wait to try the new foods I will encounter in MA.

Just found this article about rent prices. Boston was number six on the most expensive but it did also state that the prices get higher the closer to the city center one gets.

If that is the case one had better make sure the heat is included in the rent and has an individual thermostat. THere are many people that move into Mass and find their rent does not include the oil heat that is so common in many older homes in New England. A huge oil bill to add on to your monthly rent every month is a shock to many.

I have heard that one of the reasons that rent costs are so high is because landlords add what they think the heating will cost to the total. So if the rent at a place I am considering is considerably low for the area I will definitely make sure about the heat being included. I didnt think that the thermostat might be controled by someone else so I will definitely remember to look for that as well. Thank you for the info.

I love to cook everything anything from fancy crab stuffed tenderloin to maple glazed cornish hens to anything Italian I would love to have a place where you can come in casual but still feel you are at a high end place without the break in the wallet if you know what I mean!! This past weekend we had a dinner party and a lot of them even brought there own take home containers!! I believe anyone can cook a great meal but when it comes from the heart and there is a passion for it you can tell the difference. That is one thing in MA I look forward to is the food, the freshness and its funny i never had heartburn on the times we were there!!!

Hello all. i have lived in MA all of my life. i live in the suburbs of Boston. And yes, most of them are predominantly white, rich, and over run with mercedes, bmw's and volvo's, especially in my area. I would say if you are a same sex couple MA is a great place to be. especially provincetown. It's on the cape and is known for its gay population. it is also a very nice town. i also know a gay couple who live iin western MA in the berkshires. Its beautiful out there and they are very accepting.
I llove MA and encourage everyone to consider moving here!
