Default New Homes in Ayer

We have driven thru Ayer quite often as of late since my husband is working in Littleton. Seems like people talk on this forum about crime in that area - is this being blown out of proportion? Right now we are renting in North Reading but are thinking down the road of buying once again and have looked at some new townhouse developments in Ayer. Tax rates are not as high as other places in MA. We do not have small children so schools would not be
part of our decision in buying.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Littleton. I sure wouldn't worry about crime in Ayer. Yes, it has its blue-collar flavor, but that's it. I wouldn't worry about crime at all.
