Default Which City to live in MA along I-90 between Longmeadow and Sturbridge MA ?

Hi All,

My wife, myself and our 5 year old will relocate to Massachusetts for job reason. My wife will work in Longmeadow MA and I will in Framingham, MA. I would like to commute via I-90 and want to drive more time than my wife. So I narrowed it down to somewhere between Longmeadow and Sturbridge along I-90. I have not lived in MA before (we will be visiting before we move to be sure) . We have no clue on where to start but I would GREATLY appreciate any help anyone can offer. Here is our criteria....

- We would like an area low crime and family friendly.
- Awesome schools....not good but Awesome.
- Commute time to Longmeadow would have to be 40mins or less.
- Affordable....we are looking at about 300 k.
- Good Community and easy shopping for my wife

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME!!!!!

Hi,

just make it more specific, I want to consider Sturbridge, Palmer or Stafford Spring in CT. Which one is better in terms of safety and education? Do it have a lot Asian people?

Thanks for your suggestions and comment.

I would have to say that your best bet is Sturbridge. Palmer is somehat removed and kind of on the depressing side. Stafford Springs, CT is rural and I don't believe the schools are stellar there.

Sturbridge is a nice historic New England town. There is a fair amount of shops, restaurants etc. and it has a small town feel. It has easy access to the Mass Pike and points south. I believe the schools are fairly decent...not overly strong, but good. Sturbridge has expereinced significant growth over the last few years primarily due to it being at a crossroads (Pike and I-84).

You may want to look into Wilbraham (further commute for you) and Charlton as well. Logmeadow is probably everything you are looking for and more, but I think it is too much of a commute for you.
