Back in the late 1990s, I liked Ken's Steakhouse in Framingham and the Wayside Inn in Sudbury for special occasions.

Arthur and Pat's in Marshfield--open from April to October, for breakfast and lunch. The best fried clams anywhere, great eggs, salads, unbelievable pancakes. Across from the ocean.

Default Favorite "New England" Restaurants in Massachusetts

For good, old traditional New England ambiance and fare, I recommend the following restaurants:

The 1761 Old Mill, Westminster
Salem Cross Inn, West Brookfield
Lafayette House, Foxboro
Colonial Inn, Concord
Wayside Inn, Sudbury

^I love the Fried Scallops from Kate's in Dennis... I haven't been in a few years, but it used to be a summer stop after fishing with my grandfather (keeps his boat in Sesuit Harbor). I also like the Roadhouse and the Brazilian Grille in Hyannis is FANTASTIC.
