Lancaster, MA? (Boston, Marlborough, Sterling: crime, home, purchasing)

Nice little town...hardly any crime at all, close to 495 and good school district (Nashoba). They regionalize with Bolton ($$$$$) and Stow. If you like a city environment, you would not like it though.

I've got a friend who lives there and works in Marlborough. She says it's definitely a little country town. All the newer housing is built on 2+ acre lots w/its own well. Her mother works in downtown Boston, rents a studio in the North End and comes home on the weekends since the daily commute would be too hard.

I grew up in Sterling and went to school in South Lancaster and I loved it...very nice area and from I hear from my friends it still is. Easy access to major highways to get anywhere quickly as well.
