B-day party for 4-year old girl in Braintree (Boston, Quincy: hair salon, amusement park)

Hey!!!
Looking for any ideas for birthday party location for my 4 year old daughter-(anything in south shore, max 20 min. drive)
We live currently in Braintree.

ps.I do not want to spend more then $100 for location. In Canton there is a very nice place but they ask $345 for 2h. I think it is to much just for 2h.

Children's Museum in Boston, Maybe the Aquarium (MOS may be a little much for a 4 year old) if they have private function facilities (and If you're willing to do it in Boston)? Then again, you could always go the Mcdonald's playland route... I know it's lame and unoriginal, but most younger children don't care.

Edaville Railroad in Carver is pretty a pretty magical place this time of year, but a litttttle bit chilly ( Edaville USA home ). A little bit further away, you have the Rainforest Cafe which kids love, and of course, there is Chucky Cheese.

I like the Edaville suggestion. I know Papa Gino's has birthday parties (I know, almost as lame as McDonald's). My youngest daughter once went to a birthday party at a local hair salon. Some of them do birthday parties for kids. The girls get their hair styled and they usually have lots of fun. I think when my daughter had her 4th birthday, we had the party at a local bowling alley where they had a party room.

I took my 2 grandaughters to edarville last friday, ITS a BIG ripoff ! $ 18:00 per person from 2 yrs and up no senior discounts ....hot chocolate $ 2:50 each, hot dog $ 3:00 ,sweatshirts $ 25:00.....will not be going back there again soon ! stick to chucky cheese more enjoyable and a lot less expensive.

^wow, the admission seems a bit pricey. I don't think the cost of hot chocolate is too bad, nor are the hot dog and sweatshirt prices for that type of entertainment (though they could be lower). You can expect to pay that much for snacks at any B-List amusement park, minor league baseball game (actually, they'd probably cost more there), or restaurant. a $25 sweatshirt (even a kids sweatshirt) isn't terrible either... you'd be paying more elsewhere.

Aside from the obvious price issues, how was it? Was it entertaining for the kids? I haven't been since well before it closed the first time but remember it being enjoyable. I'm guessing not from your post.

The Quincy YMCA has a great deal .. I think it's $150 for their gym for 2 hours....but WAIT, it also comes with two "counselors," who play tons of games with the kids and keep them totally entertained. They also help you set up and clean up a separate "party room," and you can have pizzas delivered right to the room. It's one of the most relaxing parties I've ever hosted. I know the Hanover Y does this, too, but it's more expensive.

What about the plaster place near Shaws in Braintree or Build a Bear in the Plaza?
