Live in Beverly or Woburn
Hi,
I am wondering if Beverly a good place to live if I work in Woburn. As far as commute to my work place, I know it takes 128 ->96->93. Is the traffic bad on these roads?
Also, would you suggest me to live in Beverly or Woburn as far as car insurance and gas? (I am soon to be 23 year old, and I have a 04 corolla)
Thank you very much!!!

Hi,
And the other option for me would be living in cambridge. I have the same question for car insurance and gas like I said above. Cambridge is just closer to Boston city. I don't know how Beverly is, and I don' know how car insurance rate and traffic will be in Cambridge or Beverly. Can someone give me suggestions on where to live?Woburn, Cambridge, or Beverly (I work in Woburn)
Thank you

Depends on what you are looking for. Any particular reason you want to live in Beverly?
I am assuming you are thinking of renting, and your question is mostly based on commute times (if you are buying - then school districts and property values are a whole different subject area)
Woburn is a good place to live - cheap-ish rentals, very nice commute location close to a lot of highways, and close to the mall. Also bus and train service into the city.
Beverly is, I think, a more "unique" place, rental stock is more on the oldish side, its hard to get out of Beverly in the morning if you are driving on 128. On the other hand, you are close to the beaches and the north shore... also malls and trains into the city.
Cambridge is the city - getting to exit 32 from either Beverly or Woburn around 5 pm is a breeze - once you exit off the highway, its a toss up as to traffic - but most days traffic is pretty bad during normal work hours. But... you get the big advantages of city life... and the high rents.
I worked in Beverly for a long time - commuted first from Cambridge and then later from Woburn. Most of it was a reverse commute, so traffic wasn't bad for me.
Good luck in your search!

I'd say Beverly is kind of quaint and near the water, but a bit harder to get to Woburn from in the morning rush hour. Woburn itself has some nice areas and some so-so areas, but at least you're close to work.
Cambridge is totally different. It should not be too bad heading north on 93 in the Am, but Cambridge is much more city living than the other 2 places. There's a lot to do in Cambridge, and it's very easy to go into Boston, but things are expensive there. You asked about car insurance. It's based on your driving record, but also on your town. Insurance will be much higher in Cambridge than in Woburn or Beverly. Gas prices are not all that different, there are some fairly cheap stations on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
Depending on your situation, parking might also be tougher in Cambridge than in the other towns.
