I went to one in Maine last spring in York I think or somewhere on the way to York and I was stunned at the prices--real Manhattan prices for sure.

I haven't been to any in York.... don't think I've been in York in over 20 years. lol The places I was in down in Searsport weren't expensive. There's another one down on 6A in Dennis proper.... can't think of the name of it... it's a two story building with many sellers.... haven't been in there in quite a few years either... gees... now I've got something to look forward to! Thanks! lol I'll check it out and let you know!

Two of the largest indoor antique malls and one heck of an outdoor market up to Arundel, Maine right at the Kennebunkport border.

Centervale Farm in Scarborough is probably the largest single owner shop in the Northeast.

^dmyankee, what's the one on the corner of Route 1 and Cascade Road in Saco? Is that any good. I used to drive by it a lot and it's small, but a lot of people showed up.

A bit closer to home you can check out the Raynham Flea Market

Essex Is definitely worth a trip to for Antiquing - there's a ton of shops
you can also have dinner at one of the seafood restaurants-
or clam shacks (like JT Farnhams or Woodmans)

I would recommend JT Farnhams or Essex Seafood (more of a local place)
Woodmans is pretty good but more of a tourist trap , there is a cool gift shop though

Essex Seafood Restaurant and Fish Market, Essex MA

Brimfield is another must location for antiquing -

A fun Antiquing day trip could also be walking downtown Salem, Gloucester, Rockport, and Marblehead
Eat at Capt's, Victoria Station,or Finz in Salem or the Landing restaurant in Marblehead.

Newburyport is another location you might want to check out for Antiquing
check out Gramm's Ice cream
and eat at the Grog
The Grog Restaurant - Newburyport, MA

Thanks for the list. Very nice.

Now, what about good auction houses? I know Broad Cove in Hingham. And I don't mean Skinners or Bonham's--something a notch or two below that.

Also, someone please talk to me about Nadeau's in South Boston.

LizBee is on a distinguished road
A lot of my favorite group shops have closed but there are still some around. There's one in Cambridge near the Lechmere T. Another one's in Waltham near downtown. And Michael's (or maybe Jeffrey's) I think it is is off of 119 out by Townsend or so. And in West Townsend center just as you turn to go to NH is a good one and the antique clock shop across the street is a once in a lifetime experience when the hour turns. Are the group shops in Sturbridge still open? That's just an hour from Boston. Sorry to not have more specifics - usually if you go to one of these you can grab a free antiques newspaper with ads for all these and more.

Thumbs up Antiquing in Mass

You have to check out the huge and well known Brimfield Antique show
An Overview of the Brimfield Show

its more like 2 hours but worth it.
could visit the springfield-northhampton area while you're at it or jaunt out to the Berkshires

Cambridge Antique Market next to Lechemere is pretty cool and could be combined with a jaunt to the food court at Cambridge Galleria for lunch and/or shopping

Cambridge Antique Market

Essex MA has a huge row of antiques all through town
just look up on yelp.com or online

some Places like Salem, Gloucester, Rockport, Ipswich and Newburyport have some nice antique shops as well

There are less antique malls , and more antique SHOPS in Mass.
I would highly recommend looking around the antique shops around the small town centers.

You shoudl also drive along route 6A on the cape and also check out provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, and Chatham for some more antique opportunities along route 6 and 28.
