Default Potentially working in Revere, where should I move my family to?

I may moving my family back to MA for a job in Revere. I have 3 small children so would like to move to an area that is outside of the city, but not so far away that my commute would be intolerable. Does anyone have some advice on where I should look to buy a house that is reasonably priced (my max is probably around $575-$600K), has a good school system, and is within a 45min-1 hour commute to Revere?

My family is originally from the South Shore, but I was a bit worried about going through the city each day to get to Revere.

Thanks!

If I were in your shoes, I'd consider 4 nearby towns: Wakefield, Reading, North Reading and Lynnfield. I would rate North Reading somewhat higher than Reading. Lynnfield has great schools and nice neighborhoods, but you'll have to leave town for all of your business needs. I hear that they're trying to get a town center planned, not sure how well that's going with the ecomonic downturn. Your price range should get you a nice 3 or 4 BR home in any of those places. Welcome (back) to Massachusetts!
