Default Looking to move to Bedford, give any insight and info on that area, from Kansas....

I am looking to move to the Bedford, MA area but have no real grasp on what the area is like. People, culture, cost of living, housing, schools, things to do. Would appreciate any insight and information anyone is willing to hand out. Thank you so very much for your time.

I moved to Bedford from CA, it's a small town and I really liked the area. I lived on Middlesex Turnpike, and the Burlington Mall is about 2-3 miles away, and there are numerous restaurants there and locally in town. I enjoyed the location for the proximity to other great small towns, like Lexington and Concord. Bedford is about 23 miles outside of Boston, so your close enough to go into the city on the weekends for various activities. Bedford is known for being expensive, but for me coming from CA I didn't find it that way, but since you are coming from an area I'm not familiar with you may find it expensive. I had a 2br/2bth apt. and it cost 2K per month, only included water. The complex is new and the other new complex in Bedford is also new runs about the same per month. The schools in the area are known to be good schools, I'm sure others will chime in on this. As for things to do, there are numerous places to go for walking, hiking and biking. This history in MA is wonderful, every where you go, including Bedford. There is the movie theaters, and local live theatre.

Hopefully you will have a wonderful time as I did in the area. I unfortunately moved out of state, due to a new job, but if it wasn't for the need for the job I would have stayed there. I can say I really enjoyed my time there.
