Traffic in Natick recently - what's up? (daycare, school)

Is it just mall traffic? All the north-south routes have been just awful recently. Last Thursday I ran into bad traffic on 27N and was 5 minutes late picking up my daughter, so today I left work 15 minutes early. Well, that did not work because today I was forty minutes late! It took me a full hour to get from South Natick to Ben Hem school, including a superfast stop in Natick Center to pick my son up at daycare.
I don't know what I am going to do. I can't leave work much earlier! I have tried going up Oak Street instead of 27 and it did not help today.
