After seeing the movie "The Departed" recently, I was just searching on the internet about some of the real life people that inspired characters in the film.

I found a piece that talked about Steven Flemmi once having lived in Milford with his girlfriend at the time, Deborah Hussey, & one of their mothers, I think.

I grew up in Milford, & was a teenager in 1985, when I believe she was murdered.

Anyone have any info. or stories regarding this?

Anyone know what street they lived on?

I was raised by Italians in Milford, & little remarks were made jokingly here & there, but I never though for real that there was any mob presence in the Milford area.

I think that I saw that somewhere, too, but believe it was a mistake or typo. Should have been Milton, not Milford.

Are you sure? I thought it was Medford - next to Somerville where the Winter Hill gang and Whitey Bulger did "business" when not in Southie."

"The Friends of Eddie Coyle" starring Robert Mitchum is the classic film on the Boston mob, IMHO.

They say there was only one person who ever put his hands on Whitey Bulger and lived to talk about it. A State trooper stopped him at Logan with a suitcase full of cash. That State trooper killed himself a year or so ago.

Mass News: Three bodies found in search for mob victims

Both Milton and Medford are mentioned in the article at this link; Flemmi's house in Milton, and the Medford Savings and Trust that was burglarized in 1980. hth
