Comedy Club Location (Boston, Springfield, New Bedford: college, restaurant, nightlife)

I have a friend in the Metro West of Boston in need of a retaurant that has a function room that would allow him to open a comedy club for once a week comedy. He is interested in the Framingham area. Also looking to open one in the cape cod area for the summer months. any suggestions? I am from Springfield Mo area but I am reaching out to the Boston area for him Hope you can help

I don't know about Framingham but others will.

I would like to throw out the suggestion of the Catwalk Bar and Grille in downtown New Bedford MA ( Catwalk Bar & Grille - Hungry? Thirsty? We can fix that! ). They have a large function room right off of the main dining room and bar area. They serve dinner and late night appetizers/ tapas which would be good for a comedy type thing. They're also open until 2 am and are ALWAYS packed with a good crowd.

Also look into Freestone's if New Bedford is of any interest ( Welcome to Freestones! ): A pic:


Downtown New Bedford is a beautiful area that's starting to really thrive. There is a good nightlife scene in the downtown area and a great restaurant scene so your friend would have a good crowd to draw from. Also, UMass Dartmouth is 10 minutes away in the next town over so it would be easy to draw from the college crowd-- there's no exisiting comedy club any closer than Providence so it would be a BIG hit in New Bedford.

In anycase, I hope your friend finds what he/she is looking for and I hope someone has more info on Framingham or the Cape for you. It's at least worth giving New Bedford a look if they can't find what they're looking for in Framingham, it would be a really successful business there.

Hemisphere on Cape Cod Canal has a downstairs function room. Not sure how many it can accomodate. The Aqua Grille in Sandwich might also be a spot to try. I'm sure the younger crowd down Cape can come up with some suggestions as well.
