Default Working in Natick, where to live?

Hello All!

Could anyone give me some recommendations on which areas would be good to live in, if I will be working in Natick? My budget would be $1 - $1.2K

Commute-wise, I was hoping for at most a 30-minute drive to work.

Any suggestions (including specific apartment complexes) would be much appreciated!

A few questions that will help folks reply:
Do you have children who will be attending public school?
Are you looking for quieter community or more bustling area? Do you prefer more land or an apt complex environ?

I work in Natick, MA as well and driving from Franklin. In the morning it takes between 40-1 hour commute. If you were to move, and are a woman, I would NOT move to Framingham. I'd say Worcester, Westboro or Marlborough or even Ashland. Although Framingham is very cheap, its very dangerous and a few of my friends' houses got broken into along with their cars. Hope that helps.

Nope, no kids - am a single female who will be living alone. I don't really have a preference re: quiet vs bustling - I just want somewhere safe, secure and not too expensive :-)

Thank you so much, that really helps! I'm looking at Westboro and Marlboro apartments now.

Is Shrewsbury a good area as well?

Shrewsbury is a bit far afield commute-wise. The previous poster is right that there are some parts of Framingham that are dicey (although there are parts that are very nice as well). If you're looking for an apartment, Avalon Apts in Westboro is nice, safe & about 1/2 hr from Framingham. You could also probably rent a small house in north Framingham in your price range - plenty of nice neighborhoods to choose from.

I agree with Scarlet...North Framingham is very nice. Shrewsbury Commons on Route 9 is nice too. You could probably rent a townhouse for close to what you want to pay at Shrewsbury Commons. A few years ago it was about $1500 for a townhouse but I believe they have dropped their prices.

As a single female I lived in Carlton Gardens in Westborough for almost 3 years and felt very safe.
