Moving from the UK =O)
Morning =O)
Can anyone help me? Im living in the UK and thinking of moving to the USA.
Im 20 years old and have a one-month-old baby. I don’t know anywhere in the USA but have friends in Massachusetts and im looking around that area. Iv have been looking at Newburyport, Portsmouth, rye, York and Maine. Not really getting a feel for the place reading information of web sites. The type of place im looking for is somewhere safe that has a good college a good nightlife and is also good for young children…. Music gigs would be nice too.
Thank you x

well I'm not sure you going to find good night life AND good for kids. You could live in and around Boston, like Brookline but I don't know if I'd raise kids there (I've never lived in Brookline, I just wouldn't consider raising kids anywhere near a major city).

To BUTTONZ
You most certainly want to be in MEDFORD! I love this town( city actually) but it feels like a small town. It is only 6 miles from Boston, the nightlife near and around Davis Square is fantstic. The medford family Network is fantastic and all the programs and classes they have a for FREE. They have family festivals, music festivals really Medford is fantastic. The Elementary schools are among the best in MA...........the high school honestly is not that great from what I heard but you are better off speaking to Parents with Highschoolers since we have a 2 1/2 year old. Let me know what other advice I can give, we love it here
( PS I grew up in NYC, came to Boston for College and stayed!)

Hi,
You definitely should look at the Northampton area of Massachusetts. There are 5 very good colleges right in that area (Smith, UMASS, Mt. Holyoke, Hampshire, Amherst). Lots of local nightlife and a pretty decent music scene. The area has lots of organic markets and farmers markets and very good schools. It's also much more affordable than living in Boston. If you want a big city you may want to think about Providence, RI.

Move near Boston or in one of the suburbs. Excellent education for your child and always something going on! If I could afford it, I would live in Boston.

Try Amherst, Northampton
Hello there - I live in MA currently. Two somewhat hip towns which are not insanely pricey are Northampton and Amherst MA. Amherst is home to the University of MA. In Maine you ought to consider Portland. Sounds like you might have already thought of Portsmouth, NH. Very cool, pricier. Good luck!

Listen carefully, I personally would not move to Mass, it sucks, lots of crimes, people are not so friendly here, they drive like a nutcase, if you wave at them as if you were being nice they look at you like something is wrong with you, the weather is horrible, there are no jobs, people who are already here are moving out, please don't move here if you don't want to mess up your life, go to some other good states such as; CA, AZ, FL, NV, TX etc... please listen to me, you don't want to come here.
