Smile Considering to move to Harvard, Mass

I am living in Mass (small apt. in Westborough for now). I am now considering to move to Harvard, MA. I was told that every New England town has it's own personality. Can anyone give me some insight into the town, its people, schools, grocery shopping, etc.

Thanks!

A lovely area, small town center. Lots of gorgeous open land and a rural feel overall. I think the town feel is sort of like Concord- older people, rather Yankee (not ostentatious with conspicuous consumption), superior schools, Unitarians and Congregationalists if religious at all.
Don't know about shopping- I don't think there really is any, but Harvard is right near Rt. 2 and there's gotta be a supermarket somewhere.
I'd live there in a minute if I could afford it and wanted a more rural than town feel.

Beautiful town, quite expensive. There are a lot of highly successful, astoundingly accomplished people who live there because they want a more rural lifestyle than the upscale suburbs closer to Boston offer. Religiously, there's a mix of liberal protestants and very conservative Catholics (represented by the Tridentine-only St. Benedict Center). There have been UFO sightings over Woodchuck Hill, where the Harvard U observatory and SETI program is. Harvard's village of Still River has one of my favorite place-names ever, right up there with Westford's Long-Sought-For Pond. The view over Fruitlands has got to be one of the most beautiful in all Massachusetts. That's about all the Harvard trivia I know.

Ayer, Acton, or Leominster are the closest. There is a Hannaford (I think used to be Victory) in Ayer.

Oh this is making me laugh--I grew up in a very snobbish area of NJ (yes they do exist) and a couple of years ago an old high school friend of mine looked me up and invited me over to her house in Harvard. During our conversation she mentioned that since having children she and her husband had decided to move to New Canaan, CT, where her in-laws lived. She then went on the say that most people in Harvard had "no teeth" I think she meant country people or what-ever!!!

I always knew she was a snob, but I had no idea how bad she was until I read this thread!

And no, I never managed to make it over to her house in Harvard. (Are you surprised?)
