Default Pepperell - how much has it grown in 40+ years?

My father was Army career and he was stationed at Fort Devons my last year in High School. I remember the dread of going to a new school in my senior year but I had the fortunate good luck to have my parents pick Pepperell to live in. There were 26 kids in my graduating class and they accepted this funny talking Southern girl as if I had gone from K-12 with them. I moved away the following year after graduation and have wondered so many times how big did that sleepy little New England town get. Does anyone know anything about Pepperell that they could share with me? I hope to find a way to get back for visit someday, I really fell in love with that small town.

Here's the stats we have on City-Data for Pepperell. http://www.city-data.com/city/Pepper...achusetts.html

I believe it's still fairly rural. The students go to a regional high school.

Well, if the students go to a regional high school now, I guess there are just a few more than 26 in each graduating class! I've never been to Pepperell, but I've always heard nice things about it. It still seems to have a reputation as a nice clean rural town.

Glad to hear you had a good experience there. MA has a reputation as an unfriendly state, but I think the truth is more complex than the reputation. One reason is that plenty of the state's rural areas have a notable friendliness about them. Best wishes on finding a way to get back and see the town again for yourself.

Anyone looking for a smaller town with good schools, town pride, sports and cultural programs for the kids, and an easy commute to nashua, boston, worcester, hopkinton, etc, ought to give Pepperell a look. Home values are good for money, and there are still places where you can build. There are only three blinking yellow lights in town and, thankfully, the nearest McD's is in the next town. Close to southern New Hampshire, which is a plus for shopping.
