Is Medfield nice or boring at towns go? Is it more on the rural side? Also, which town is closer to Boston, Westborough or Southborough. Excuse my ignorant questions

Southboro is a tiny bit closer to Boston. Both have commuter rail access. There's a train station on the Southboro/Hopkinton line and then the next stop (heading away from Boston) is the Westboro station, which is on the Shrewsbury side of town. I grew up in Westboro, and lived in Southboro more recently. I prefer Southboro because there's less traffic, it's less crowded, far less commercial, and has more of a commitment to open space. However, in terms of real estate you can get a little more for your money in Westboro than Southboro. For ex, there are a few really cute places in Westboro in the high 300s/low 400s. I very rarely see anything nice in Southboro at that price unless it needs some TLC, although there are exceptions.

Medfield is a pretty town, some affluent neighborhoods, large house lots. It has a country feel in a nice way. There's not a lot there.

Medfield is a quiet suburban town, definitely more on the rural side, with great schools, but not much to do in the town itself. You'd be pretty close to Framingham and Natick, though, where there are a lot of restaurants and shopping -- maybe 20 minutes.
