I keep driving past an interesting, but forbidding looking place on 203 in Roxbury--it's only open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Has anyone ever been there?

Casey we have the Firefly's here in Quincy which is right around the corner from me but I have to say it is just okay which is a shame that it is not as good as Marlboro which I have been there too.
The first time I ate there there was the plastic wrap from the cheese in the appetizers...then it was good and then a few weeks ago we got it as take-out and the chicken was undercooked and the ribs were dry.
I hope they get it right because I love Firefly's.

Clyde's, that's it. We went to the Outlaw when it 1st opened and it wasn't bad, but then I went back a year later and it had basically turned into a biker bar.

Dear Lord. Thanks for the heads up. The last thing I need is to pop in for dinner with 2 little boys and find myself in a biker bar!

If you're really hard up, there's a Cracker Barrel in Wrentham by the outlets. If you find something better, let me know...I'm looking for somewhere with good biscuits and gravy, but don't know of anything nearby.

OMG. Biscuits n gravy. When i was at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas I would get their B n' G 3 or 4 times a week after I found out I was moving to New England. Thats most likely why my pants don't fit. but...
OMG.
You know what they call that down south, right? $h!t on a Shingle.

If you do go to Firefly's, make sure it is the one in Marlborough. That is the best one. Also, I can never find southern potato salad up here. Nobody does the potato salad like they do in the south.

I used to live in Texas and missed the barbeque myself.
Now I just buy a brisket, I cover it in dry rub and put my oven on warm, which is like 190 degrees, I put the fat side up and let it cook. Sometimes I take regular mustard on before I use the dry rub. You should be able to find a good recipe for dry rub on the internet.
I still have family and friends in Texas and they send me the dry rub from my favorite barbeque place in Fort Worth.
If you like barbeque beef ribs, you cook them in a crock pot with the dry rub and then take them out and put them under the broiler to brown them. Better then any beef ribs I have ever had.

Bub's BBQ.
sunderland, MA.
its AMAZING BBQ... sooo good. its REAL BBQ.
and it is so cheap, and its pretty much all you can eat.
they serve ribs, chicken, steak, pulled pork, all the red meat you could ask for. and they also have interesting dishes like alligator tails.
when you are there you have to try the banana cheesecake and the fried twinkies! best BBQ restaurant ive ever been to and i go to georgia a lot cause i have family that lives there, so you will love it. Definetly the best place to get BBQ in new england.
im not sure where sharon is, but its worth the drive.
"best bbq joint in new england"- the NY times.
www.bubsbbq.com
 hope i helped.
