Default Real estate tax lein

Hi all, New here. I lost my house to forclosure in Jan. 07 I filed chap 7 before the forclosure. The house sold in late 2007. The town of Billerica claims I still owe real estate taxes. Does nt the new buyer have to pay off all leins on the property at the time of sale? Any advice would help. Richie

No, the new buyer is not responsible for the taxes that were incurred while you owned the property, you are still responsible for those.
