Upton, Mass Information (Westborough, Northborough, Southborough: house prices, buy, schools)

I just relocated to Central Mass and I found a home to purchase in Upton, Ma, although, I have not yet submitted an offer. Having just moved to this area, I am somewhat concerned about the school quality and level of education. The greatschools website has such a wide range of ratings, its hard to predict how good they really are.

Do they have arts, music, language programs? How about the sports programs? I have kids age 6 and 9 and want to find a place where this is valued. Does Upton have community soccer leagues for kids like in the other towns?

My family and I are not into the "keeping up with the Jones's" so we ended up ruling out Northborough, Westborough, and Southborough mainly because the house prices were very high compared to what you could buy for the same money in Upton.

Any comments and advise? Thanks.

Here's the link to the youth soccer program Upton offers. Soccer is quite big in this area - even lots of "club" programs if the kids are interested later.

Are you too far away to meet with the school principal to be sure you are comfortable with the programs offered? Otherwise, Upton is a good choice as it's small town but not out in the "boonies" and, as you mentioned, not as pricey as some of the surrounding area.
