State Park Having Cabin Rentals (Boston, Milton: house, campgrounds, club)

I'm looking into some inexpensive summer fun for the family.

Does anyone know of any State parks that do cabin rentals? I'm looking for something that has fun for teens.

In the past, we've vacationed in Lake George, which everyone loved. We're looking for something different this year.

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful!

The Appalachian Mountain Club has cabins in the Blue Hills Reservation in the Milton/Canton area (near Boston). I know they run other campgrounds and cabins in other New England parks as well so you may want to check out what they have available. Their website is outdoors.org

Mohawk Trail State Forest in Charlemont, MA, has cabins. They are rustic, meaning no plumbing. There is a bath house near the cabins, though, with showers, toilets, and sinks. We've stayed there many times, until they quit allowing dogs in the cabins, and loved it.

There are bears there, though. A few years ago, friends of ours had close calls 9 times with bears at their cabin site.

That is why we bought a large dog -- to warn us of the bears.

There is no cell phone coverage there, either.

There's also one in RI that has rustic cabin rentals that I have been looking into as well.
