Default Northampton/Lenox

Hi...

We have an opportunity to relocate to either Lenox or Northampton. I know that Northampton is an option, I still have to interview for Lenox location next week.

Our biggest concern is that my husband is in Museum/Science Center work. We would like to live walking/biking or within public transportation to a museum. But it seems the museums are in Springfield and the good schools are in Amherst!

Any thoughts on Northampton Area or Lenox being better for a one car working-class family?

Smile Northhampton

Northhampton would be agood fit.

Its not that far of a drive into Springfield....
and close to Amherst as well

Would be a good fit.

Lots of services and such in Northhampton

You'd be minutes from Amherst
and UMASS
Holyoke area

and 10 -20 min from Springfield Drive wise
about 10 miles

Also the Movie Edge of Darkness was filmed in Northampton with Mel Gibson
:-)
I was an extra in it :-) the courthouse scene

--Hope this helps--

Thanks, I've heard really good things about Northampton and Amherst. Where would you say is the most pedestrian/bicycle friendly area in Pioneer Valley? I take it Northampton, "lots of services and stuff".

And that's pretty cool about the Edge of Darkness ...

Do you know off hand what the state income tax is? We're from Tampa and Florida has no state income tax...that'll be new. Trying to compare costs of living. Thanks for your help!
