Default moving to Mansfield from Missouri

My partner and I are moving to ma. possibly mansfield. We have an 8 year old son. I have read the posts on the schools and they seem pretty good. Are there any areas in Mansfield I should avoid? Looks like the crime rate is low.

Mansfield is a safe town. Nothing to really worry about. A bit expensive, but if that's not a problem-- enjoy!

Mansfield is a nice place. not to crowded. Has all the stores you could want. right by the interstates too and the raynham flea market, off route 24, few miles east. i live in north attleboro but i've been there often. there is also a train station, part of the subway system from Boston. there is hardly any big crime here. you'll be safe. my neighbors leave there keys in their cars and leave their back doors open, so you'll be fine. good luck.

Mansfield is a good location

far enough from Boston to get the suburban-country feel, but still be close to services.

Such as Patriot Place mall at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro

You will be right next to
Gillette Stadium/Patriot place
The Comcast Center (Mansfield for concerts and such) an outdoor concert venue

And you'll have a Commuter Rail (Train) stop to South Station right in mansfield.

Mansfield has a lot of activities, for youth, and the high school sports are pretty good.

funway USA is in Mansfield As well
Funway USA - FOXBORO, MA

Capron Park Zoo - Attleboro, MA
Capron Park Zoo - Attleboro

Borderland State park is in Easton not far away
lots of hiking, walking trails
Department of Conservation and Recreation - It's Your Nature

Ames Nowell State park is in Abington
Ames Nowell State Park

there's F Gilbert Hills State forest in Foxboro
F. Gilbert Hills State Forest

other parks and trails in SE MASS
Department of Conservation and Recreation

Also Blue hills would be close by - with hiking trails and ski area.
about 20 min

------------------------------------------------

If you did need to drive into the city you could drive to RIVERSIDE "T" and take the Green line "D" train into town

-------------------------------------

or just do the commuter rail from Mansfield to south station (Red Line)

I would recommend Foxboro over Mansfield. The schools in Mansfield are good but I heard the town is experiencing problems with gangs.
