Default The Berkshires

Hi -

Any nice people looking to make new friends with a decent single mom family? I have a ds age 15 and a dd age 11.

We are fairly new, to Williamstown and think the Berkshires are just beautiful!

Have you tried meetup.com and even craigslist. More of this stuff on there.

I have, meetup especially since craigslist can get real weird

The groups i'm finding are all in Albany or the "Capitol Region" as it is referred to. we still have not yet visited that area.

Cool Outdoor Activities

outdoor activities are a great way to meet people. Join some outdoor type groups, a hiking club, dog-walking club if you have pets, running club if you like jogging, You should also consider volunteering in town organizations. Lots of communities out there have different volunteer orgs to get involved with and get to know your neighbors.

Here in Winchester I volunteer at my Community Access station
our local Television studio.

Maybe go to community events, and such (find them on the web)
and meet people that way. Such as Pancake Breakfasts, Craft Fairs, Town Carnivals, antique sales, etc.

Go to local sporting events....(High school)

I would recommend checking out Mt Greylock reservation, hiking trails, and you can hike up or drive up to the top, (Highest Mountain in Mass.)

there's also a nice bike path near you Called the Ashwilticook Rail Trail (look it up online)

You could also spend a day at Deerfield, Old Sturbridge Village, Basketball Hall of Fame, or The Hancock Shaker Village near Pittsfield.

I'm sure once you get involved in the community you will meet several people.

You could also maybe organize a block part in your neighborhood to get to know your neighboers, or throw a house warming party, or something to meet people.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Jeff D
