Default Moving to Ma. from Florida

moving to MA with my family form sunny Florida (3 kids under age of 5). My husband will be working in Marlborough. We are looking at homes in Marlborough, Hudson and Newton. Which is the best place to live with small kids in regards to safety, house size, schools, convenience.

It depends what you're looking for and your budget. There are lots of great options nearby to Marlboro. Sudbury, for example, has excellent schools, tons of recreation and community activities, a town pool, nice hiking trails, decent shopping, and easy access to Marlboro. It's a very quiet suburban town that tends to "roll up the sidewalks" on the early side. Southboro is another lovely option. Newton also has highly regarded schools but has a different feel. It's closer to Boston and has more "walkable" areas and 14 "villages" with their own town centers. Village Maps. It's quite expensive.

Wow me also. I leave Manatee County in a month for Lowell area.
FL has some of the worst schools and would make Marlboros look great lol.
Buy in Billerica as its closer to Boston or Woburn might not be a bad spot but the school factor I heard wasnt so great there but that may not even matter.

I'm not sure what the allure of Billerica or Woburn would be since they're both a heck of a commute to Marlboro and neither have stellar schools.

You could also try Grafton or Shrewsbury. Both are easy commutes to Marlborough and are pretty decent in the school dept. I work in Marlborough and have plenty of coworkers from both towns.

Sudbury is nice. Wayland is nice but very expensive. I would avoid Marlborough. Hopkinton is a very nice area for the price. I would definitely check that area out. You're going to have to pay tolls every time you take the Mass Pike (Hwy 90). There's talk of increasing them but you never know. Framingham is nice as well for the money. Hudson's okay in parts but Stow is nicer but kind of remote.

Littleton is a great town to raise a family and is an easy commute to Marlboro. I commuted to Marlboro from both Grafton and Westboro and would recommend both also.

Cool Some other suggestions

I might suggest looking into Berlin, Sudbury, Wayland, Stow is pretty nice as well.

Perhaps Bolton or Boxoboro as well (You could commute via 495 South)
Perhaps look into Clinton or Devens as well.

(North of Marlboro)

Southboro, Westboro, Upton, Hopkinton, Holliston and Ashland, Hopedale or even Bellingham could be doable as well with a commute on 495 North.
from the south. - Most of these communities are 15-20 miles from Marlborough (South)

Hope this helps..
