Default Young Prof. Working in Woburn- Where to live?

Hi everyone. I recently got a job in Woburn and while I'll be commuting from home for the time being (So. NH), I'll probably be looking to relocate to a closer area. I've been debating between living in Davis Square in Somerville, as I'm 22 and not quite ready to give up the "city" lifestyle- and looking at finding a complex in the Woburn/Burlington area.

Can anyone offer some guidance, particularly on the commute from Davis Sq. to Woburn? I'm just fast-forwarding to having to make it in the winter and wondering if it's worth living further away when I'll probably only be running around the city on the weekends anyways. Thanks!

If you're not willing to give up the city lifestyle, I would definitely recommend against the Woburn/Burlington area. I had some friends your age (when I was your age) who lived in Somerville and commuted out to Waltham and Bedford and they all seemed to think the added commute was more than worth it for the opportunity to live in a more vibrant area.

Davis to Woburn is mostly a reverse commute and shouldn't be awful. There may be two or three days during the winter where the commute is particularly frustrating, but I think it's worth the hassle.

Thanks so much! After some more consideration today, I've decided I'm going to brave the commute and live in Davis- definitely can see myself there more than the Woburn area.
