Stoughton?
Hello,
My husband just got a job in Stoughton, we are thinking of living there. Is it a good move? I went to college in Boston, but don't know much about the suburbs. How are the schools and communities in Stoughton?
Thanks!

I almost did end up there, but did not. As you, I just did not
or my parents know about the area. Are you going to buy, or rent?
Also do you work, and where, all that needs to be a factor! You did say
schools, so do you need that children? You, need a list, and a budget.
Where are you now, and would that also work? It does seem as you are out of state?

Here are a couple of threads on Stoughton.

It's OK, nothing more. In my personal opinion, not that attractive or interesting a town. Schools and the general look of things are probably better in other nearby towns like Canton, Sharon, Norwood, or Walpole.

I live in Stoughton, MA and it is great. The school system is great but the High school is a little up and down. The elementary schools are great and the Middle School is great. Stoughton is a nice medium town with a center and lots of food places. Last Week the Cheng Du in the center caught on fire and was destroyed. But You still have tons of food places. It is a good move with so many houses to choose from.

I've never lived in Stoughton but lived in a neighboring town and still have friends in Canton. I also did quite a bit of family history research in Stoughton and I think it's one of the undiscovered gems in MA.
The people were wonderful, centrally located to 128 and 95. Commuter rail is convenient. Lovely neighborhoods and quite a bit of history. Haven't looked recently, but it was always one of the more affordable towns to buy a home.
I'd definitely consider it for relocation.

I live nearby, and do much of my shopping in the Stoughton. Love the Ikea and Costco. The schools weren't sufficient for my needs, but both my kids have special education needs, so that was a major concern of mine. I wish I could have lived in Stoughton or Canton, as there are more rentals and more to do than in Sharon. honestly the commute is NOT bad at all in that area, so you could live in any of the surrounding towns and make it to work in 15 minutes. You have lots of options.

Also Bay Road with Stoughton and Sharon after 2 years is fixed! It saves so much time now and the residents of the neighborhood are happy now.
