Glauben is on a distinguished road
Default Somewhere between Boston and Springfield

My wife and I ARE moving to Mass. Unfortunately, our jobs...at least for the next year...will require each of us to commute to Boston and Springfield, respectively. So, we have been searching for a location that represents a midpoint between the two cities in terms of the time and distance required to make the commute. We've looked at some of the newer lofts in Worcester, but it seems that the added 15-20 minute drive to the Pike in the morning might be a little much considering our commuting distance. Also considering the train for travel into Boston.

Although we've tried to contact some not-so-consistent rental agents for homes/apts, we have'nt come up with that many options. Possibly Auburn, Millbury, or Grafton if we are to use the Pike in the wee morning hours. We are in need of a one-year lease agreement in a safe, convenient, and more upscale area that allows each of us to make this commute more tolerable. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, our intended move date is June 15, give or take a week.

I would suggest adding Shrewsbury to the list, too. If you look in the area near Route 20, you'll be 10 minutes from the pike and commuter rail into Boston. One newer rental development group is Avalon communities - I don't have any association with them, but they do seem to provide a relatively upscale environment for the area. Youmay also want to look at the Jefferson development in Marlborough, a bit further east, but close to the pike and I would say they have superior rental units wrt interior finishes.
