Brewster has a small country village feel - with more of a spread out business area over route 6A with restaurants, antique shops, a general store, etc. -

Chatham has more of a centralized downtown and is quite charming. There's Nickerson State Park Nearby, Monomoy Island Refuge, Nauset Beach iN orleans, the bay-side beaches in brewster with beautiful sunsets and such-

I guess it depends if you want to be on the bay side with a house with aview of the sunsets and the ocean ---which would be great for an ocean-view home in Brewster--

or Chatham with its more town-feel with the town center and such - with shops, restaurants, and all that

Chatham has great seafood restaurants, some ocean-side beaches---and bike trail which connects with the cape cod rail trail and nickerson park for recreation

its a very nice area. - lots of B+B's and hotels in the area if you get visitors.

Dennis , Harwich, and orleans are also nice

Brewster-and Harwich also have some kettle pond areas that have a secluded feel to them more country woods type living ---in the central parts of the town

Long pond is a particularly nice area

Hope this helps

I dont know if Ocean Edge golf course allows people to buy homes there--but you might look into it ---

By living at Brewster-Chatham -Harwich area you'd be right in the middle of the action 20-30 min from Provincetown and 20-30 min from the Bridges..

Enjoy
Actually, Nickerson State Park is in Brewster, NOT Chatham. Brewster also has the Punkhorn Parklands which is 800 acres of conservation lands with trails for walking, kettle ponds, and part of it abuts Upper Mill Pond.

Also, traveling to P'town from Brewster, Chatham or Harwich is more like an hours trip. Chatham/Harwich to the bridges is about 45-60 minutes depending where you live because you have to get to the highway first. It's 30 minutes from MY door in WEST Brewster, but would be about another 10-15 minutes for EAST Brewster.

Not really sure where you live Dreamworks, but your information is not spot on for the areas I've seen you writing about the last few days on quite a few NE forum threads. No offense meant whatsoever as I see how helpful you're trying to be, but looking at map mileage doesn't always tell the whole story.

Orleans and Chatham actually SHARE part of the outer beach of Nauset, and Brewster ALSO has a beach on Pleasant Bay inbetween Orleans and Chatham.

However, when viewing a SUNSET in Brewster, you're actually looking at Cape Cod Bay, NOT the ocean.

Population wise, Brewster has more people than Chatham.

There are NO homes in Ocean Edge, they're condos. Yes, you can buy them.
