dognh I think you have a nasty view of Massachusetts and the Boston area in General. Its not very nice to just slander an area just because you happen to not like it, the people, or their views. -

Winchester is a town with a lot of smart people , we have people who are lawyers, doctors, law enforcement, educators (My mom has been an elementary teacher for over 25-30 years there. - we have businessmen who went to Bentley, we have film-makers who went to Emerson , we have olympic athletes (alicia sacramone) we have television news people (Mike Lynch and Kim Khazi, also Mark Ockerbloom head anchor on Fox 25 --is from Winchester) we have a good variety of people and its more culturally and politically diverse than ever before.

I think you have a very narrow view of this area dognh.

you have a right to express your opinion but I'm going to tell the real truth

people in Winchester are not ALL affluent btw

I still live at home and am 32 years old, because I cannot afford apartments out here. I only make $10-15 an hour - which is hardly anything to live on
so dont judge people until you've lived here.

Everyone thinks everyone in Winchester-Lexington-Concord areas are multi-millionaires..---but thats not the case
there's a whole different array of people in these communities and it is a very nice area to live. I hae lived here for almost my entire life and grew up here. I enjoy Winchester and all the area has to offer, also the ease of commuting into the city. - which is a big reason to move here as well
aside from the nice downtowns, parks, and people. as well as good school systems.

I would highly recommend any of these towns though I have a personal bias for Winchester having lived in this great community my entire life

lorisheepdog is on a distinguished road
Just writing to thank everyone for your help. We have chosen Winchester. We really like the physical beauty of the town (Mystic Lakes, Fells), the quaint downtown, and nice mix of older (some historic) homes. We have not put our house on the market yet so are renting for 9 mos. in Winchester. We will be a very short distance from the Lake and boat club. Also, love the proximity to Boston (8 miles). My only real problem with Winchester right now is the lack of restaurants. Yes, there are a few good ones, e.g. Catch, but there just aren't enough overall for my taste.
