Hi,

I'm moving to MA from MI and will be working in Marlborough. I would like to rent an apartment somewhere east of there so that Boston is more accessible. I don't want a long commute to work either, 30 mins or less. I'm a 26 y/o, single, asian-american male, so I would like to live in a town that is somewhat ethnically diverse as well. I've been looking at a map and also reading these forums looking for a good town to live in, and so far I have thought of Waltham, Framingham, and Natick. I am looking to spend about $1500/month to rent a more upscale apartment. Can anyone please comment on my choice of Waltham, Framingham, and Natick, and suggest other towns if appropriate?

Thanks.

Default Update ?

So its basically the same story i have right now, moving to MA from MI and work is in Marlborough.
I was just wondering what happened at the end, where did you end up moving to and living in and do you like it and what do you recommend for me. I'm 26 too and would like a place i can get out the apt and like walk to places maybe and jog or bike and stuff.

Worcester can get you the best apartment for your money compared to places closer to Boston.

Agreed, look at Worcester. Not as urban but Hudson has a great little downtown, brewpubs, cafes etc.

Framingham would be my first thought. Waltham seems a bit far, and I do not like a long commute.
Worcester would be great if you gave up wanting to be close to Boston.

framingham has very much an up and coming downtown. There are already several bars and breweries and there are numerous luxury apartments going up near the center. I would look there. Commute from framingham to marlborough will be easy.

Why are people recommending Framingham over Marlborough and Hudson? What advantages does it have, what is the point? Just live right there.

Yeah, I think Framingham has it's charms but Hudson is much nicer, and you'd have the unique opportunity to live there and have a great commute.

OP mentioned wanting to be close to Boston so I recommended Framingham. I would recommend Marlborough/Hudson but I got the feeling that they wanted more of a nightlife and are single.

I happen to work in Marlborough and live in Stow. Many families are in Hudson and not as many singles.
