Looking for feedback/advice on Northbridge vs Hopedale
Hi - My lady and I are moving. She works in Marlborough, I'll be working in Warwick, RI. We've looked all around various areas that are (more or less) splitting the commuting distance, including in Duxtonford (what I call the Douglas, Sutton, Uxbridge, Oxford area), Franklin, etc.
After much looking in the various areas (many of which we like), we're debating between putting an offer on one of two houses - one in Hopedale, one in Northbridge. The houses and land are comparable and we really like each of them in different ways, which has made it tough to decide. I've run all the stats on both areas and Hopedale seems to come out ahead but....stats are just stats sometimes.
We don't have any kids yet but plan on it within a year or so, so schools are a consideration. Any info anyone can provide about either Hopedale or Northbridge would be greatly appreciated.

I would choose Hopedale alone just for the schools, one of the better districts around that area.

Ditto CaseyB's post. Hopedale is a very small district, but surprisingly good. Also a really charming area.

Thanks for the feedback - Northbridge does seem like a decent area but Hopedale seems more "family-oriented" to us (neighborhood feel, walking distance to things, etc). It's just tough to get a good enough feel through short drive-bys and such.

I live next to Hopedale (Mendon) - drive through it enough and agree that its a very nice/family oriented town.

Well, between the responses here, the lack of any postings that I can find regarding Northbridge on CD, and other various info we have in hand, we're leaning heavily toward Hopedale at this point. We'll be talking tonight and hopefully making a final decision by tomorrow. If anyone has any other thoughts (positive or negative) about either Hopedale or Northbridge, definitely feel free to post. I'll post our decision when made since y'all have been kind enough to take the time to give feedback. Thank you

Ok, so we're making an offer on the house in Hopedale. In addition to the info you folks provided (thanks again!), EVERYONE we've spoken to in the last couple of days has said good things about the community, schools, and town in general. Here's hoping for the best!
