Default Plymouth

Anyone out there, who has children, live in Plymouth? We are relocating there and I had some questions: I have read the Federal Furnace School District is one of the best? Also, if we chose to move to a home close to the beach, is it still family friendly....or are they mainly rentals. I would love to live near the oceam, however, I would not want an area where there are no neighborhood kids for mine to play with.....Any input is helpful - Many thanks!!!!

My hubby grew up in Plymouth (Manomet village) so I can help you. All the areas of Plymouth tend to be family oriented to be honest. Manomet is on the beach (White Horse Beach) and there are some rentals but tons of families with young kids as well. I don't know Federal Furnace school too well but that part of town (West Plymouth) tends to be full of cookie cutter neighborhoods. If you like that, you will be happy. My hubby hates West Plymouth because of this so I wanted to mention it. And I have to be honest, the middle and high schools in Plymouth aren't the greatest. They are overcrowded and Plymouth North (which you would go to if you live in West Plymouth) is old. Sad but true. There was some talk of building a 3rd high school but I think it got shot down??

If you have a choice, I'd honestly say to move to Carver instead. Lots of families and the school system is much better. I grew up there and back then my hubby would tease me about living in the sticks. But it's grown a bit and he's even said he'd rather move there than Plymouth because of the schools. Good luck!
