Work in Brockton, where to rent?
Hi,
I might be moving to MA and will be working in Brockton. I would like to rent an apartment north to be near Boston. I am used to commuting to work 45 minutes to an hour so I don't mind long communtes, but would prefer a commute of around half an hour. I am a 28 year old single. Which towns do you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

Randolph, Stoughton, Avon, Whitman, Rockland, Hanson....lot's of places.
What's so bad about Brockton? , live on any of the townlines and they are good neighborhoods, you don't have any kids to worry about the schools, so why not take advantage of more affordable housing in Brockton.

i worked their, and refused to live paid at the hotel it brockon, lived instead at the sheraton tara braintree. it was not a bad compute, i was going the other way from traffic. my thoughts on brockton and staying forced, was to call the brockton police, yes they did agree, . i won the battle, and felt way safer in the tara braintree. i think it was the carlton house where i did refuse to stay. west bridgewater, on the line I do think in o k. do not stay in the down town area. when people needed to relocated for work cars were stolen all the time. they were even given the car lock device you can work and live in west bridgewater, etc. crime, be safe, not sorry.
oh, in braintree, at the hotel i also almost got my prelude stolen. the tara is right near the highway, however, i felt way safer their. check with the papers and police. I had no problem at all with working their, near the Bridgewater line. the other area, be carefull.
check with the hiring people, if you take the job. If it is near Bridgewater, you are o k. If it is Downtown Brockton be carefull if you have a nice car. this was a while ago, however, Brockton downtown?

Look into Quincy... half an hour commute to Brockton, most of it going the opposite way of traffic. Lively, small city, with easy access to Boston too because Quincy has several Red Line stops (one of Boston's subway lines).
And Quincy has the added bonus of being very safe (second safest small city in the state), unlike Brockton -- Brockton has some good qualities but it also has some big problems. I used to work there and my building got shot up one night in a drive by. Yikes. So I'm with you -- live elsewhere.

Avon is a nice place. I live in Brockton, if you like hearing gun shots and 5 year old kids cussin worse than most adults and seeing creak heads walking around all day then move to Brockton.

Weymouth or Quincy have a lot of apartments and it's a lot better than Brockton. You don't want to live in Brockton!!
