Has anyone done this? If so how was it? Any pictures to share? Was it a good or bad experience? Any advice before I try one of the trails? I heard the Appalachian Trail is good.

I haven't climbed Mt. Greylock, but I've driven to the top. It's ok as mountains in Massachusetts go--there is a pretty view of the valley below and a monument on the top--but it's not in the same league as the Presidentials in New Hampshire or just about anything on the West Coast. If it were nearer to me I think it would make a great place for day hiking, but seeing as the drive for me is comparable to the drive to New Hampshire I don't think I'll go back.

Two pictures: the view from the top and the monument on the peak.
