Default May be moving for job in Framingham from Atlanta. Need advice on where to live.

May be getting an job offer in the Framingham, MA area and would have to relocate from Atlanta, GA. Want to get an idea of how much house we can get to better understand how to potentially negotiate the offer.

Currently married with 2 small children (2 1/2 year old and one month old) so want to be in area that is family friendly. Proximity to Boston would be nice but is not critical.

Currently in a 6 year old house in Atlanta (everything is new in Atlanta) with 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, study, fully finished basement, and 2 car garage (~4000 ft2 with basement). House is worth about $370,000.

While I know that I will never find this same house at this price in MA, what areas would be recommended to get a 4+ bedroom and 3+ bath house in the $450-$550K range. Is it even doable at that price? If not, how high would I need to go in price? I would prefer to have a newer home (<10 years old) but not tied to it.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

My first thought is Hopkinton, Westboro, Southboro, or possibly Grafton - where you could find a home of the size you like *if* you didn't mind it being older. For a more recently build home I'd say it'd probably run closer to $600K. You'll get more for your money in Grafton but the schools are better in Hopkinton, Westboro, and Southboro.
