West Boylston is a wonderful town to raise children......schools are very good and you can't beat the location.

I'd agree with this. I have family in WB and it is very nice. Not much going on, but a great place for a family. A decent move-in ready house would probably be more in the $250 range though.

Not sure about the state of the schools, but Oxford is quite a nice town and would be cheaper than stuff closer to 495. I used to commute to Hudson (just north of Marlboro) and it was a half hour from Oxford.

Dudley and Charlton are a little further away, but the schools are well for the area. And then the already suggested Sturbridge is decent too. There's also Shrewsbury, which is just east of Worcester.

Thanks everyone! My husband got the job, and they are talking about us moving up, probably next summer or so. No hard deadline, which is nice, so we'll be able to shop around.
