Default Moving from Dallas TX area to Framingham MA area

New job on the horizon in Framingham and will be relocating from Southlake TX in 8 weeks.

Looking for advice on towns and cities to live in that are:

2. Single famly home or condo, at least 2500 sq ft, 3 bedroom, not to exceed $550K
3. Good shopping, quality of shops, variety of resturants, golf courses near by
4. Near major medical center of hospital as my wife is an RN amd will be seeking work (<20 min drive time required)
5. Empty nesters, no kids , they visit 6 times a year...2 boxers
5. 1 hr or less to downtown and sporting events( Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics)

Heck, I would just live in Framingham. Pretty sure it meets all your criteria. The <20 minute drive time thing for your wife might be tight wherever you go...but of course that all depends on what shift she's working.

There's a hospital in Framingham....not sure if you consider it a major medical facility though.

Also you might consider:

Natick
Wellesley
Needham
Newton
Sherborn
Southboro
Brookline

Natick would be least expensive; Southboro is very small country town but is close enough to meet all your criteria. Brookline would give you lots of options for hospitals but there is almost nothing in that price range.

However, in the other towns - even tho pricey - you should be able to find something under $600,000 that you like. All are close to restaurants, shopping and....you're a sports fan?....you'll be in heaven here!

I'd look especially closely at Natick. Second Concepts' observation that most of the other towns Concepts suggested would offer fewer options for properties under 600, but they're all nice towns if you were to find a bargain. Natick offers more options in your price range than the others, and is right next door to Framingham, but in my opinion is overall a nicer town than Framingham. Natick has a clean, very suburban character, if that kind of town is to your liking, with lots of mall shopping. It's on a commuter rail line, so you have that as one more option for getting to Boston. Plenty of medical centers in Boston, though more than a 20-minute commute from Natick, but there is a medium-sized hosptial next door in Framingham, and another medium-sized hospital in Newton, which is probably fairly close to a 20-minute commute, though this would depend on where you lived in Natick and the hour of the commute.

Also for RN jobs near to Framingham I'd contact:
Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton
Leonard Morse Hospital, Natick
Umass Medical, Worcester
Southboro Medical Group, Southboro

I'm not a big fan of Metrowest Medical in Framingham so can't say I'd recommend there.

If you chose to live in Framingham/Natick there is also Emerson Hospital in Concord, which is a fairly good commute as well. Other towns you may want to consider: Westborough, Northborough, both not far from Framingham, on the rail and close to highways to Boston and close to medical centers.
