Western Mass sights to see (Boston, Worcester: real estate, rentals, hotels)

Hi All,

I will touring the NE States this August on my motorcycle. I've seen a fair amount of Mass and would like to check out the western side now. I'm looking to stay out of the cities/congestion as much as possble. If you have any favorite places to visit or any recommendations I'd appreciate them. This can also include places to eat that are favs.

Take the Mohawk Trail from North Adams on east. It's the most beautiful road in Mass. It winds up into the hills and has hairpin turns and then follows rivers with steep rises to either side. You won't be dissapointed.

Pick up Rt.7 in Ct. run that all the way to Williamstown in the North West corner of the State. It's a nice scenic drive, except for Pittsfield that is. Pick up Rt. 8 east, which is the Mohawk Trail, and run that all the way to Greenfield. This is probably the most 'scenic' Road in Ma. From Greenfield, pick a route to drop over to the Quabbin. I agree that the Quabbin is 'must see'. I run the Mohawk Trail on my Bike every Fall for the Foliage. I kick myself now for not taking pictures as I am soon 'headed' South.
